dc.description.abstractΣκοπός της παρούσας διπλωματικής εργασίας είναι η κατά το δυνατόν διεξοδικότερη ανάλυση της έννοιας και των υφιστάμενων μεθόδων της αποτίμησης επιχειρήσεων, με ταυτόχρονη εφαρμογή αυτών στην Danaos Shipping Co. Ltd., μιας από τις ισχυρότερες εταιρείες στον παγκόσμιο χάρτη της ναυτιλίας. Επιχειρείται η κατηγοριοποίηση και ανάλυση των μεθόδων αποτίμησης που συναντώνται στη χρηματοοικονομική επιστήμη και εφαρμόζονται τόσο από τον ακαδημαϊκό, όσο και από τον επιχειρηματικό κόσμο, με μικρές ίσως διαφοροποιήσεις. Ιδιαίτερη βαρύτητα δίνεται στην ανάλυση των μεθόδων αποτίμησης που, βάσει ερευνητικής τεκμηρίωσης, εκτιμούν με τη μέγιστη δυνατή ακρίβεια την αξία μιας επιχείρησης. Η εφαρμογή των συγκεκριμένων μεθόδων στην υπό μελέτη εταιρεία Danaos Shipping Co. Ltd. και σε δύο ακόμη εταιρείες που δραστηριοποιούνται στον ναυτιλιακό κλάδο μας οδηγεί στην εξαγωγή σημαντικών πορισμάτων αναφορικά με την αξία, την κεφαλαιακή διάρθρωση, την χρηματοδοτική και επενδυτική πολιτική, την κατέχουσα θέση, αλλά και την προοπτική των παραπάνω εταιρειών στην παγκόσμια ναυτιλία.el
dc.description.abstracttranslatedThe aim of this diploma thesis is to provide a thorough analysis of the concept and the existing methods of business valuation, accompanied by the application of those methods to Danaos Shipping Co. Ltd., one of the most powerful companies on the world map of shipping. It is attempted to categorize and analyze the valuation methods, which are encountered in the financial sciences and are applied by both the academic and the business world, with slight variations. Particular emphasis is given to the analysis of valuation methods that determine the value of an enterprise with the utmost precision, according to research evidence. The application of these methods to Danaos Shipping Co. Ltd. and two more companies operating in the shipping industry, leads us to export significant research findings concerning the real value, the capital structure, the financial and investment policy, the position and the prospects of these companies in the global shipping market.el
