dc.description.abstractΗ εργασία διερευνά τον ρόλο της τοπικής αυτοδιοίκησης στην προσχολική αγωγή, εστιάζοντας στις προκλήσεις και τις δυνατότητες καινοτομίας στο τοπικό επίπεδο. Μέσα από ανάλυση της ελληνικής και διεθνούς εμπειρίας, τονίζεται η ανάγκη για αποκέντρωση, διατομεακή συνεργασία και παιδαγωγική ανανέωση, με βάση τις κοινωνικές και δημογραφικές ιδιαιτερότητες κάθε περιοχής. Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δίνεται στον Δήμο Κορινθίων ως μελέτη περίπτωσης, με στόχο τη διαμόρφωση τοπικών σχεδίων πολιτικής που να προωθούν την ισότητα, τη συμμετοχή και τη βιωματική μάθηση. Παρουσιάζονται καλές πρακτικές από ευρωπαϊκές χώρες, καθώς και προτάσεις για εργαλεία πρόβλεψης, ενίσχυση της παιδαγωγικής ηγεσίας και αξιοποίηση του φυσικού και πολιτιστικού περιβάλλοντος. Η εργασία καταλήγει σε ένα συνεκτικό πλαίσιο προτάσεων για την ενδυνάμωση της προσχολικής αγωγής σε τοπικό επίπεδο, ενώ αναδεικνύει και κατευθύνσεις για περαιτέρω έρευνα. Η προσχολική αγωγή μπορεί να αποτελέσει θεμέλιο για δίκαιες, παιδοκεντρικές και κοινοτικά προσανατολισμένες πολιτικές, με τη συνεργασία όλων των εμπλεκομένων φορέων. dc.description.abstracttranslatedThis thesis explores the role of local government in early childhood education and care (ECEC), focusing on challenges and innovation opportunities at the local level. Through an analysis of both Greek and international experiences, the study emphasizes the need for decentralization, intersectoral collaboration, and pedagogical renewal tailored to each region’s social and demographic specificities. Particular attention is paid to the Municipality of Corinth as a case study, aiming to develop local policy plans that promote equity, participation, and experiential learning. Good practices from European countries are presented, alongside proposals for forecasting tools, pedagogical leadership, and the integration of natural and cultural local environments into educational strategies. The study concludes with a coherent policy framework to strengthen ECEC at the municipal level and highlights areas for further research. Early childhood education is approached as a foundation for fair, child-centered, and community-driven policies, built upon the active involvement of all local stakeholders—educators, parents, social professionals, and municipal authorities.
