dc.description.abstractΠρώτος ο Περίανδρος ο Τύραννος της Κορίνθου (602 π.Χ.) αποφάσισε να ενώσει τον Κορινθιακό με το Σαρωνικό κόλπο με τη βοήθεια του Δίολκου. Στο πέρασμα των αιώνων υπήρξαν πολλές ιστορικές προσωπικότητες που ήθελαν την κατασκευή της διώρυγας της Κορίνθου. Οι εργασίες διόρυξης ξεκίνησαν στις 23 Απριλίου του 1822 από τον Ούγγρο στρατηγό Στέφανο Turr μέσω της «Διεθνούς Εταιρείας της Θαλάσσιας Διώρυγας της Κορίνθου». Η μελέτη του έργου έγινε από τον Ούγγρο Gerster. Μετά από χρεοκοπία της «Α.Ε.Θ.ΔΙ.Κ.», η προσπάθεια συνεχίστηκε από την «Ελληνική Εταιρεία Της Διώρυγας της Κορίνθου», με συμμετοχή του Ανδρέα Συγγρού. Η κατασκευή του έργου τελείωσε το 1893.el
dc.description.abstracttranslatedPeriandros the Tyrant of Corinth (602 BC) was the first to decide to unite the Corinthian Gulf with the Saronic Gulf with the help of Diolkos. Over the centuries there have been many historical figures who wanted the construction of the Corinth Canal. The excavation work was started on April 23, 1822 by the Hungarian general Stefanos Turr through the "International Society of the Corinth Sea Canal". The study of the project was done by the Hungarian Gerster. After the bankruptcy of "AETHDIK", the effort was continued by the "Hellenic Society of the Corinth Canal", with the participation of Andreas Syggros. The construction of the project was completed in 1893.el
