dc.description.abstractΗ παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία εξετάζει την ιστορική πορεία της Καλαμάτας από το 1830 έως το 1945, εστιάζοντας στη θεσμική, κοινωνική και πολιτική της εξέλιξη. Αναλύονται οι απαρχές του Δήμου, η ενσωμάτωσή του στο οθωνικό κράτος και η ανάπτυξή του μέχρι τους Βαλκανικούς Πολέμους. Εξετάζεται η συμβολή της πόλης στους Εθνικούς Αγώνες, η επίδραση της μικρασιατικής προσφυγιάς στην τοπική κοινωνία και η δράση της Καλαμάτας στην Αντίσταση κατά την Κατοχή. Η εργασία αναδεικνύει τον ρόλο της πόλης ως μικρογραφία των εθνικών εξελίξεων στη νεότερη ελληνική ιστορία.el
dc.description.abstracttranslatedThis thesis examines the historical course of Kalamata from 1830 to 1945, focusing on its institutional, social and political development. The origins of the Municipality, its integration into the Ottonian state and its development up to the Balkan Wars are analyzed. The city's contribution to the National Struggles, the impact of the Asia Minor refugee population on local society and Kalamata's action in the Resistance during the Occupation are examined. The thesis highlights the role of the city as a microcosm of national developments in modern Greek history.el
