| dc.description.abstract | Η παρούσα εργασία αποτελεί μια προσπάθεια διερεύνησης για το αν και σε ποιον βαθμό η ανάθεση διοργάνωσης και φιλοξενίας των Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων του Παρισιού (2024) και του Λος Άντζελες (2028) άσκησε επιρροή στις χρηματιστηριακές αγορές της Γαλλίας, όπως επίσης και της Αμερικής. Τα δεδομένα της παρούσας εργασίας αποτελούν οι τάσεις των τιμών του γενικού δείκτη τιμών του Χρηματιστηρίου του Παρισιού (CAC 40), όπως επίσης και του γενικού δείκτη του Χρηματιστηρίου της Νέας Υόρκης (GDOW). Η Ναυτεμπορική (naftemporiki.gr), μία εκ των κορυφαίων ελληνικών οικονομικών εφημερίδων, αποτέλεσε τη βασική πηγή των δεδομένων. Για την ανάλυση των δεδομένων έγινε χρήση των ημερήσιων τιμών κλεισίματος των γενικών δεικτών. Ως βασική μέθοδος προσέγγισης χρησιμοποιήθηκε η event study, η οποία αποτελεί μελέτη γεγονότος και στη συγκεκριμένη μελέτη επιχειρεί να εκτιμήσει τις επιδράσεις σε συγκεκριμένες χρηματιστηριακές αγορές. Σύμφωνα με την ανάλυση των δεδομένων αναδείχθηκε ότι η ανακοίνωση ανάθεσης των Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων δεν επηρέασε σημαντικά τις τάσεις των Χρηματιστηρίων της Γαλλίας και της Αμερικής, καθώς οι επιδράσεις τόσο κατά την ημέρα της ανακοίνωσης όσο και αργότερα ήταν αρνητικές. Παράλληλα, συγκρίνοντας τα αποτελέσματα της πορείας των δεικτών των δύο Χρηματιστηρίων (Γαλλίας, Αμερικής) διαπιστώνεται ότι η ανακοίνωση της ανάθεσης των δύο Ολυμπιάδων ασκεί σαφώς μεγαλύτερη επίδραση στο δείκτη GDOW (χρηματιστηριακή αγορά της Αμερικής), καθώς για το δείκτη αυτό οι μη κανονικές αποδόσεις εμφανίζονται υψηλότερες σε σχέση με το δείκτη CAC 40 (χρηματιστηριακή αγορά της Γαλλίας). | el |
| dc.description.abstracttranslated | This dissertation is an attempt to investigate whether and to what extent the assignment of hosting and hosting the Paris (2024) and Los Angeles (2028) Olympic Games had an impact on the stock markets of France as well as the Americas. The data of the present work represent the price trends of the general index of the Paris Stock Exchange (CAC 40), as well as the general index of the New York Stock Exchange (GDOW). Naftemporiki (naftemporiki.gr), one of the leading Greek financial newspapers, was the main source of data. For the analysis of the data, the daily closing values of the general indicators were used. The event method was used as a basic method of approach, which is an event study and in this study attempts to assess the effects on specific stock markets. The analysis of the data showed that the announcement of the award of the Olympic Games did not significantly affect the trends of the French and American Stock Exchanges, as the effects both on the day of the announcement and later were negative. At the same time, comparing the results of the course of the indices of the two Stock Exchanges (France, America) it is found that the announcement of the assignment of the two Olympics has a much greater effect on the GDOW index (American stock market), as for this index the abnormal returns appear higher than the CAC 40 index (French stock market). | el |
