dc.description.abstractΗ παρούσα εργασία αποσκοπεί στην πρακτική πλαισίωση της βιβλιογραφίας για τη σχέση μεταξύ του φαινομένου της παγκοσμιοποίησης και της ευρωπαϊκής ενοποίησης. Η πλαισίωση αυτή έγινε μέσω της συγκριτικής απεικόνισης δεικτών που αποτυπώνουν τα παραπάνω φαινόμενα: του KOF Globalization Index και του European Sovereignty Index. Αρχικά, σχολιάσαμε μεμονωμένα τα ποσοστά παγκοσμιοποίησης και τα ευρήματα του ευρωπαϊκού δείκτη και με βάσει αυτά, κατασκευάσαμε τρία dashboards. Για την περαιτέρω διερεύνηση του ζητήματος της παγκοσμιοποίησης και της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης απεικονίσαμε τον Elcano European Presence Index. Τέλος, κατασκευάσαμε ένα συγκεντρωτικό dashboard με τα προηγούμενα γραφήματα. Από την απεικόνιση και την ανάλυση των δεικτών προέκυψε ότι τα κράτη μέλη της Ένωσης είναι σε γενικές γραμμές «παγκοσμιοποιημένα», αλλά όχι τόσο ενεργά όσον αφορά την προώθηση της ευρωπαϊκής ανεξαρτησίας σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο. Εντοπίστηκαν ακόμη, διαφοροποιήσεις μεταξύ των κρατών μελών, με τα κράτη της Βόρειας και Δυτικής Ευρώπης (πλην κάποιων εξαιρέσεων) να βρίσκονται πιο ψηλά στην κατάταξη και στους δύο δείκτες έναντι κρατών της Ανατολικής και Κεντρικής Ευρώπης. Τέλος, η απεικόνιση του δείκτη Elcano European Presence Index, επιβεβαίωσε την ύπαρξη του προαναφερθέντα διαχωρισμού μεταξύ των κρατών μελών, ενώ ανέδειξε την Γερμανία στην κορυφή της κατάταξης, με συντριπτική διαφορά από τις υπόλοιπες χώρες.el
dc.description.abstracttranslatedThe purpose of this paper is to contribute to the bibliography on the relationship between the phenomenon of globalization and European integration. To achieve this, we compared and created visualizations of two indices that measure the above-mentioned phenomena: the KOF Globalization Index and the European Sovereignty Index. Firstly, we commented separately on globalization rates and the scores of the European Sovereignty Index. Based on these findings, we built three dashboards which compare the two indices. Also, we visualized the Elcano European Presence Index to further elaborate on the relationship between globalization and EU. Lastly, we created a dashboard which combines the graphs of all the indices on a single sheet. This analysis concluded that the member states of the Union are in general terms “globalized”, but they are not so active in the promotion of European independence on a global level. Differences between member states were also identified; Northern and Western European states (with some exceptions) ranked higher in both indicators than Eastern and Central European states. Finally, the visualization of the Elcano European Presence Index confirmed the division between the member states. Germany scored at the top of the ranking by a great margin from the rest EU countries.el
