| dc.description.abstract | Η εργασία που ακολουθεί στις επόμενες σελίδες αναφέρεται στο ενδιαφέρον θέμα της «βιώσιμης ανάπτυξης». Μιας ανάπτυξης 'διαφορετικής' που βασίζεται όχι μόνο στην επίτευξη οικονομικής μεγέθυνσης, αλλά λαμβάνει υπόψη της τις ανάγκες του κοινωνικού συνόλου και επιδεικνύει σεβασμό στο περιβάλλον. Παρουσιάζονται αναλυτικά, η διαχρονική εξέλιξη του όρου, οι σημαντικότερες πτυχές του ζητήματος, οι διεθνείς πρωτοβουλίες για την εδραίωση αυτής της μορφής ανάπτυξης σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο και γίνεται μια εκτενής αναφορά στην Ευρωπαϊκή διάσταση της έννοιας σε επίπεδο της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης, καθώς και σε εθνικό επίπεδο. Αποτελεί μια επισκόπηση που βασίστηκε κυρίως στην υπάρχουσα Ελληνική και ξένη βιβλιογραφία αλλά αντλήθηκε υλικό και από τον έντυπο και περιοδικό τύπο, επίσημα κείμενα της Ε.Ε και της Ελλάδας και το διαδίκτυο. Βασική διαπίστωση της έρευνας είναι ότι η έννοια της «βιώσιμης ανάπτυξης» έχει γίνει ευρέως αποδεκτή σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο και έχει αναγνωριστεί η σημασία της, ωστόσο τα μέχρι τώρα αποτελέσματα από την εφαρμογή της δεν είναι αρκετά ικανοποιητικά και μια σειρά από ζητήματα εξακολουθούν να παραμένουν ανοικτά. Συνεπώς χρειάζεται μεγαλύτερη δέσμευση από όλους· κυβερνήσεις, επιχειρήσεις, πολίτες, για την εφαρμογή των αρχών της «βιώσιμης ανάπτυξης» στην πράξη, ώστε τα οφέλη να γίνουν περισσότερο απτά και να διοχετευθούν παντού. | el |
| dc.description.abstracttranslated | The present study constitutes an extensive literature review of the current research and policy design issues related to the realization of "Sustainable development". The term sustainable development is used to denote a "different type " of development, that is based οη the achievement of economic growth, οη the one hand, and the satisfaction of societal needs, οη the other, while demonstrating respect towards the environment. Analytically the main issues that are presented here refer to, the diachronic development of term sustainable development, the more important open debates in the field, the international initiatives for the consolidation of this form of growth at a global level and, finally, an extensive report is presented regarding the European dimension of the challenge of implementing sustainable development practices and policies both at the European Union as well as at the national level. For the purpose of the present study an extensive review of the international literature has been made while a number of different sources have been searched for including Greek and foreign printed and periodical press, official texts of the EU and Greece, and the internet. The study's basic ascertainment is that while the importance of achieving "Sustainable development" has become widely accepted at the global level, the implementation of appropriate measures towards ensuring its achievement still lags behind and a number of important debates in the field remain open. The study's main conclusion is that all agents involved in the socio-economic aspects of development, i.e. · governments, enterprises , citizens, need to strongly engage towards the implementation of sustainable development practices, in order for more tangible gains to be created and these gains are channeled more evenly. | el |
