dc.description.abstractO καλλιτεχνικός στόχος της παρούσας εργασίας είναι η δημιουργία μιας Verbatim Dance θεατρικής σύνθεσης που αναδεικνύει το κωμικό και παράλογο στοιχείο της περιόδου της πανδημίας (περίοδος μελέτης: πανδημία covid-19 2020-2023), χρησιμοποιώντας την χειρονομία ως αφηγηματική γλώσσα. Το καλλιτεχνικό αποτέλεσμα αποτελεί ένα χρονικό της πανδημίας που ανήκει στο ευρύτερο είδος του Θεάτρου του Πραγματικού και δανείζεται εργαλεία έρευνας για την καλλιτεχνική κατασκευή. Η εργασία μελετά τα δύο στάδια της θεατρικής σύνθεσης, τη συγγραφική διαδικασία και την πρακτική έρευνα. Τα ερευνητικά ερωτήματα σχετίζονται με τους τρόπους που γίνεται η ενσωμάτωση των παράλογων και κωμικών στοιχείων τόσο το συγγραφικό έργο, όσο και την ανάδειξη των ίδιων στοιχείων στην πρακτική έρευνα στοχεύοντας να δημιουργήσει μία παράσταση Verbatim Dance θεάτρου. Μετά από παρατήρηση της παρουσίας στον δημόσιο χώρο κατά τις τρεις φάσεις της πανδημίας (προ-πανδημική, καραντίνα, μεταπανδημική περίοδος), η πρακτική έρευνα μελέτησε τους παράγοντες κοινωνικό σώμα, βλέμμα, λόγος, εγγύτητα και τις επιρροές τους από τα νέα πανδημικά μέτρα. Η μεθοδολογία των Viewpoints για το θέατρο χρησιμοποιείται στην πρακτική έρευνα που στοχεύει στη σκηνική μεταγραφή μίας συνέντευξης ή προσωπικής μαρτυρίας σε χορογραφική παρτιτούρα (αυτό-βιογραφική παρτιτούρα) με την χρήση συμπεριφορικής/εκφραστικής χειρονομίας, στοχεύει στη σημειωτική μεταβολή μίας χειρονομίας σε δραματικό χρόνο με στόχο την δημιουργία ενός νέου κινητικού εκφραστικού λεξιλογίου. Στα κεφάλαια της εργασίας παρουσιάζεται το θεωρητικό πλαίσιο και στη συνέχεια αναλύεται όλη η διαδικασία της δημιουργίας του καλλιτεχνικού αποτελέσματος που χωρίζεται σε τρεις φάσεις (προπαρασκευαστική περίοδος έρευνας πεδίου και συλλογής υλικού, φάση συγγραφής της πρωτότυπης Verbatim σύνθεσης με στοιχεία χορού και θεάτρου, και φάση πρακτικής έρευνας).el
dc.description.abstracttranslatedThe artistic goal of this master’s thesis is to create a Verbatim Dance Theatre performance, that explores the comic and absurd elements that occurred during the pandemic covid-19 period, using gesture as a narrative language. The artistic result is a chronicle of the pandemic period (2020-2023) through the lens of the comic and the absurd. This case study examines two aspects of the artistic result: the writing process and the practical research. The research questions focus on the ways that comic and absurd elements can be incorporated into this theatrical genre, as well as the highlighting of the same elements in practical research. As far as this hybrid genre belongs to the genre of “Theater of the Real”, the testimonies have crucial role in the performance. The practical research applies tools of the Viewpoints’ method for theater to transcribe an interview or personal testimony into a choreographic score (auto-bio-narration) using behavioral/expressive gesture. The research also explores the semiotic change of a gesture throughout the dramatic time, aiming to create a new stage vocabulary of movements and expressions for the characters. After observing the presence in public spaces during three phases of the pandemic (pre-pandemic period, quarantine, post-pandemic period), the factors of social body, gaze, speech, proximity-distancing and the social effect from the new pandemic measures are implemented into the performative action. The thesis is divided into several chapters that explore and analyze the entire process. It begins from the theoretical framework and continues through the three phases of the creative process: (a) the preparatory phase which includes the field research and the collection of primary and secondary sources, (b) the writing phase of the original verbatim composition that incorporates elements of the absurd and the comic within a dance theater play and (c) the practical research phase. The practical component (chapter Δ) of the research consists of the rehearsals’ tools, references and exercises for the performance “Pandemic’s Autopsy”, that took place in May 2024, at Okay Space in Athens. The thesis concludes by presenting the research results, the interview questions and the final play.el
