dc.description.abstractΗ χώρα μας αντιμετώπισε πολλές προκλήσεις τις τελευταίες δυο δεκαετίες με την οικονομική κρίση του 2009 να αλλάζει τα δεδομένα στην καθημερινότητα των πολιτών και να δημιουργεί νέες συγκυρίες αλλάζοντας προς το χειρότερο την ζωή της πλειοψηφίας των συμπολιτών μας. Πάνω που η κοινωνία προσπαθούσε να συνέλθει από τις πολλαπλές και ατελείωτες δυσκολίες που επέφερε η οικονομική κρίση είχαμε και την έξαρση της πανδημίας το 2020 όπου η οικονομία της χώρας δέχτηκε δεύτερο πλήγμα χωρίς ακόμα να έχει συνέλθει από το προηγούμενο. Αυτές οι συγκυρίες οδήγησαν την χώρα σε έξαρση του φαινομένου της ανεργίας και της εργασιακής επισφάλειας στην Ελλάδα αλλά και στην Κρήτη όπου είναι και το κύριο θέμα της παρούσας εργασίας. Αρχικά θα αναφερθούμε στην ανεργία και τις επιπτώσεις της στην κοινωνία, στην οικονομία και σε πολλούς άλλους τομείς αλλά και το πώς επηρεάζουν όλες τις ηλικιακές ομάδες και τους νέους. Θα μιλήσουμε για τον ρόλο της οικογένειας και του κοινωνικού κράτους απέναντι στην μάστιγα της ανεργίας καθώς και το πώς η πανδημία επηρέασε την αγορά εργασίας. Με την ανεργία να αυξάνεται ολοένα και περισσότερο εκείνες τις δύσκολες εποχές δημιουργήθηκε όπως ήταν λογικό στους πολίτες κοινωνική ανασφάλεια με επόμενο την εργασιακή επισφάλεια σε πολλούς τομείς. Όλα αυτά δημιούργησαν σε πολλά άτομα προβλήματα ψυχικής υγείας λόγω της μακράς απουσίας τους κυρίως από την αγορά εργασίας αλλά και λόγω του μεγάλου εγκλεισμού εξαιτίας της πανδημίας. Παρακάτω θα αναφερθούμε και στην ευέλικτη απασχόληση και τις μορφές της με την τηλεργασία να κυριαρχεί πλέον την περίοδο αυτή και να διευκολύνει πολλές επιχειρήσεις δημόσιες και ιδιωτικές. Στο τέταρτο και τελευταίο κεφάλαιο κάνουμε αναφορά στην ανεργία και την εργασιακή επισφάλεια στην Ελλάδα σε σύγκριση με την Κρήτη. Κατά την διάρκεια της οικονομικής κρίσης αλλά και της πανδημίας η Κρήτη και όλες οι περιφέρειες της χώρας μας ήρθαν αντιμέτωπες με την ανεργία αναφερόμενοι ξεχωριστά σε κάθε νομό κάνοντας σύγκριση. Βέβαια το γεγονός ότι η Κρήτη αποτελεί τον δεύτερο πιο δημοφιλή προορισμό στην Ελλάδα στον τουρισμό έδωσε τη δυνατότητα σε πολλές επιχειρήσεις και καταστήματα να προσλάβουν πολλά άτομα για εργασία κυρίως τους θερινούς μήνες λόγω της μεγάλης προσέλευσης επισκεπτών.el
dc.description.abstracttranslatedThis master's thesis investigates the multifaceted challenges faced by the country over the past two decades, with a particular emphasis on the economic crisis of 2009. The study examines how this crisis altered the fabric of daily life for citizens, leading to detrimental circumstances that significantly impacted the majority of the population. By analyzing the consequences of the economic crisis, this research aims to identify the profound transformations experienced by citizens and shed light on the challenges they have encountered. The extraordinary challenges faced by the country over the past two decades, characterized by the 2009 economic crisis and the subsequent impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The study investigates the profound and prolonged difficulties endured by society as it strove to recover from the initial economic crisis. Furthermore, it explores how the outbreak of the pandemic delivered a devastating blow to the country's economy, compounding the existing challenges and impeding the recovery process. Through a comprehensive analysis, this research aims to shed light on the intricate interplay between these dual crises and their collective impact on the socioeconomic landscape of the country. Τhese circumstances led the country to the rise of the phenomenon of unemployment and job insecurity in Greece and Crete, where it is also the main subject of this work. First we will refer to unemployment and the effects on society in the economy and in many other sectors but also how it affects all age groups and especially the young. We will talk about the role of the family and the welfare state against the scourge of unemployment as well as how the pandemic affected the labor market. As unemployment continues to rise during these challenging times, it is only natural for citizens to experience social and job insecurity across various sectors. The increasing unemployment rates have led to a sense of uncertainty and vulnerability among the population. The prolonged absence from the labor market, coupled with the extensive confinement resulting from the pandemic, has had a detrimental impact on the mental well-being of many individuals, leading to the emergence of various mental health issues. Below, we will also discuss flexible employment and its various forms, with telecommuting being the prevailing trend during this period. Telecommuting has greatly facilitated numerous public and private businesses. In the fourth and last chapter we refer to unemployment and job insecurity in Greece compared to Crete. During the economic crisis and the pandemic, the island of Crete, along with all the regions of the country, experienced high levels of unemployment. Certainly, the fact that Crete is the second most popular destination in Greece in terms of tourism has provided numerous opportunities for businesses and shops to hire a significant number of people, especially during the summer months, owing to the high influx of visitors. This increased demand has facilitated the creation of employment opportunities and the recruitment of a considerable workforce within the region.el
