dc.description.abstractΗ εργασία, στο πλαίσιο της διεθνοποιημένης εμφύλιας σύγκρουσης, θέτει στο κέντρο της ανάλυσης τους τρίτους δρώντες, προκειμένου να διερευνήσει εάν η παρέμβασή τους παρατείνει τη διάρκεια της σύγκρουσης και κλιμακώνει την ένταση. Σε μια ασύμμετρη σύγκρουση, όπως είναι η εμφύλια, εξετάζεται πως η μεταβολή της ισορροπίας ισχύος προς όφελος της μιας ή της άλλης εμπόλεμης πλευράς καθορίζει τον χαρακτήρα της σύγκρουσης διαμορφώνοντας τις εξελίξεις επί του πεδίου και τις αξιώσεις ή παραχωρήσεις στο τραπέζι των διαπραγματεύσεων. Η υπόθεση της εργασίας εξετάζεται μέσω των περιπτωσιολογικών μελετών των εμφύλιων πολέμων στη Λιβύη και τη Συρία. Και στις δύο εμφύλιες συγκρούσεις καταγράφεται ευρεία παρέμβαση τρίτων δρώντων, παρατεταμένη διάρκεια του πολέμου και κλιμάκωση της έντασης σε επίπεδο ανθρωπιστικής καταστροφής. Παράλληλα, αναγνωρίζονται οι κίνδυνοι που προκαλούν οι συγκρούσεις, αξιολογούνται σε μία ενδεικτική μήτρα κινδύνων και ο σοβαρότερος εξ αυτών αναλύεται σε δέντρο γεγονότων.el
dc.description.abstracttranslatedThe thesis, in the context of internationalized civil conflict, places the third actors at the center of the analysis in order to investigate whether their intervention prolongs the duration of the conflict and escalates the tension. In an asymmetric conflict, such as a civil war, it is examined how the change in the balance of power in favor of one or the other warring party determines the character of the conflict by shaping the developments on the field and the claims or concessions at the negotiating table. The paper's hypothesis is examined through the case studies of the civil wars in Libya and Syria. In both civil conflicts there is widespread intervention by third parties, prolonged duration of the war and escalation of tension to the level of humanitarian disaster. At the same time, the risks caused by the conflicts are recognized, evaluated in an indicative risk matrix and the most serious is analyzed in event trees.el
