dc.description.abstractΤο όραμα του Κωνσταντίνου Καραμανλή, για ένταξη της Ελλάδας στις Ευρωπαϊκές Κοινότητες πραγματοποιήθηκε με την υπογραφή της Συμφωνίας Προσχωρήσεως (28 Μαΐου 1979). Η δημόσια συζήτηση που προηγήθηκε της ένταξης πήρε μεγάλες διαστάσεις. Στην παρούσα εργασία, θα παρουσιαστεί το πλαίσιο της συζήτησης, από την κατάθεση της αίτησης τον Ιούνιο του 1975 έως και την Κύρωση της Συνθήκης Προσχωρήσεως από το Ελληνικό Κοινοβούλιο στις 28 Ιουνίου 1979. Δίνεται ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στα πολιτικά κόμματα, που πρωταγωνίστησαν με τον τρόπο τους, στη διαμόρφωση της κοινής γνώμης για τις Ευρωπαϊκές Κοινότητες. Θα αναλυθούν οι απόψεις των πολιτικών κομμάτων της Νέας Δημοκρατίας, του Κεντρώου χώρου, του ΠΑΣΟΚ, του ΚΚΕ και της Ανανεωτικής Αριστεράς, αναφορικά με τα οφέλη και τις συνέπειες που θα επέφερε η ένταξη στην ΕΟΚ στο εσωτερικό πολιτικό σύστημα της χώρας, στην οικονομία, στην εξωτερική ασφάλεια και στην εθνική ανεξαρτησία της. Θα γίνει αναφορά στον τρόπο που η περίοδος της διαπραγματευτικής διαδικασίας για την ένταξη στην ΕΟΚ, έδωσε την ευκαιρία κυρίως στα κόμματα του ΠΑΣΟΚ και του ΚΚΕ να αναπτύξουν στρατηγικές πολιτικού ανταγωνισμού σε μια εποχή που το κομματικό σύστημα της χώρας αναδιαμορφωνόταν. Καθώς και στην τροποποίηση της ρητορικής του ΠΑΣΟΚ σχετικά με την ένταξη στην ΕΟΚ, λίγο πριν τις εκλογές του 1981 και στην εξωτερική πολιτική που άσκησε το ΠΑΣΟΚ, όταν έγινε κυβέρνηση.el
dc.description.abstracttranslatedKonstantinos Karamanlis' vision of Greece's accession to the European Communities was realised with the signing of the Accession Agreement (28 May 1979). The public debate that preceded the accession took on great dimensions. In this paper, the context of the debate will be presented, from the filing in June 1975 until the ratification of the Accession Treaty by the Greek Parliament on 28 June 1979. Particular emphasis is placed on the political parties, which played a leading role in shaping public opinion on the European Communities. The views of the political parties of the New Democracy, the Centre, PASOK, the KKE and the Renewal Left will be analysed with regard to the benefits and consequences of EEC membership for the country's internal political system, economy, foreign security and national independence. Reference will be made to the way in which the period of the negotiation process for EEC membership provided an opportunity for the parties of PASOK in particular and the KKE to develop strategies of political competition at a time when the country's party system was being reshaped. As well as in the modification of PASOK's rhetoric on EEC membership shortly before the 1981 elections and in the foreign policy pursued by PASOK when it became government.el
