dc.description.abstractΟι μεταβολές που συνέβησαν στην εκκλησιαστική γεωγραφία της Αρκαδίας καθώς και ο ρόλος που διαδραμάτισαν τα μοναστήρια της Αρκαδίας και ειδικότερα τα μαντινειακά μοναστήρια στα μεγάλα ιστορικά γεγονότα, οδήγησαν στο να χαρακτηριστούν ως πνευματικά, εθνικά, εκπαιδευτικά και πολιτιστικά κέντρα. Τα μαντινειακά μοναστήρια σήμερα ξεπερνούν τα 30 στον αριθμό. Τα περισσότερα ιδρύθηκαν τον 11ο αιώνα, άλλα ανακαινίστηκαν μετά την Άλωση, κατά τη διάρκεια της Α΄ Τουρκοκρατίας. Αποτελούν πολύτιμα μνημεία για την Ορθοδοξία και το ελληνικό έθνος, αλλά και πεδίο μελέτης και πηγές για την επιστήμη της λαογραφίας, της θεολογίας, της αρχαιολογίας, της φιλολογίας, κ.α. Η Ιερά Μονή Βαρσών Μαντινείας μέσα από την χιλιετή πορεία της και ειδικότερα μέσα από τις σπάνιες χειρόγραφες καταγραφές της, μας παρουσιάζει την σπουδαιότητά της στη σημερινή εποχή και την επιστήμη, μας παροτρύνει να παραδειγματισθούμε από την πορεία της και να παραδεχθούμε την αντοχή της. Από το σύνολο των 381 εγγράφων, βιβλίων και χειρογράφων της, πολυτιμότερα είναι δύο πατριαρχικά σιγίλλια, του 1594, που εκδόθηκε από τον Πατριάρχη Ιερεμία Β΄και του 1798 του Γρηγορίου του Ε, δύο περγαμηνοί κώδικες του 11ου αιώνα, και οι δύο Ευαγγελιστάρια, ο λεγόμενος «Κόνδυκας της Αγίας Μονής Ταύτης του Αγίου Νικολάου Δασόν». Επίσης, ιδιαίτερα σημαντικά για την ιστορία της Μονής και της Αρκαδίας είναι το πλήθος εγγράφων με αγορές ακινήτων και δωρεές κινητών και ακίνητων από πιστούς χριστιανούς, για «ψυχική τους σωτηρία» ή για μνημόνευση των ονομάτων των ίδιων και των οικείων τους, επιστολές, μερικές προερχόμενες από το Οικουμενικό Πατριαρχείο καθώς και σουλτανικά φιρμάνια.el
dc.description.abstracttranslatedThe changes that occurred in the ecclesiastical geography of Arcadia as well as the role played by the monasteries of Arcadia and in particular the Mantinean monasteries in the great historical events, characterized them as spiritual, national, educational and cultural centers. The Mantinean monasteries today exceed 30 in number. Most were founded in the 11th century, but were renovated after the Fall of Constantinople (1453), during the first Turkish occupation. They are valuable monuments for Orthodoxy and the Greek Nation as well asimportant sources forfolk studies, theology, archaeology, philology,etc. The Holy Monastery of Varson at Mantineia through its millennial course and especially through its rare manuscripts, show us its importancein the present day and science, and urges us to take it as an example for its course and to acknowledge its endurance. Out of the total of 381 documents, books and manuscript, most valuable are two patriarchal sigils, of 1594, issued by Patriarch Jeremiah II and of 1798, issued by Patriarch Gregory V, two parchment codices of the 11th century, Gospel Lectionaries, the so-culled «Kondykas of the Holy Monastery of Agios Nikolaos Dason». Also, utterly important are for the knowledge of the history of the monastery as well as of Arcadia the large number of documents with purchases of real estate and donations of movable and immovable property by faithful Christians, for «the salvation of their soul» or for the mention of their names and their beloved ones, letters of any kind, some sent by the Ecumenical Patriarch as well as Turkish firmans.el
