Abstract

This research studies the challenges that nonprofit organizations face when delivering sports programs for social development in Jordan. Barriers like cultural resistance, gender inequality, funding instability, and bureaucratic hurdles cause slowed processes. A qualitative approach is used through semi structured interviews with key stakeholders show how these challenges reflect and align with global trends. Localized strategies, adaptive funding models, and inclusive programs are key findings to overcome these challenges. The study contributes to insights that enhance the sustainability of sports initiatives for social development in the area. According to the literature, nonprofit organizations across the globe encounter various issues when delivering sport for development programs, including but not limited to resource limitations, cultural resistance, and gender inequality. This study focuses on Jordan using a qualitative approach to investigate whether these global challenges also affect organizations in this region. Through interviews with key stakeholders—such as program leaders, local officials, and community members—this study aims to uncover the specific threats faced by organizations delivering sport for development programs in this region. It is confirmed that sports initiatives in this region face similar obstacles. Localized strategies, adaptive funding models, and inclusive programs are key findings that have been implemented to overcome these challenges. The study contributes to insights that enhance the sustainability of sports initiatives for social development in the area. This research contributes to a broader understanding of how nonprofit organizations navigate the complexities of delivering sports programs in diverse social contexts, highlighting the barriers faced and their impact on sport for development initiatives in Jordan.
