The creation of digital panoramic images, has come a long way in the last twenty years. Τhe evolution of the algorithms and techniques we used to create 2D panoramic images (Composites), is a fascinating study by itself. We then examine the possible successor to 2D digital composite imaging, with the introduction of 4D lightfields and the ever evolving processes that can create panoramic lightfield images
